Canon Eos d30 with Tamron Lense…?

I recently inherited my dad’s old Canon EOS d30 and he has a Tamron AF Aspherical Lense on it, but I am not loving the way my pictures are comming out. I find it hard to focus on anything, even with the auto focus on, it just doesn’t seem to work all the time. Is this just a really bad lense or am i just really bad with the camera?? Anyone have any suggestions for better lenses or settings you find that work best for this camera??

The D30 is a basically good camera, (I have an old Canon D60 myself). I have a Tamron lens and it sometimes totally loses communication with the camera body. I have to remove and replace the lens to get it to work again. My guess is your first place to look at your problem is that lens. If you have a REAL camera store where you can take the camera and try some CANON lenses, I think you will see it totally solves your problem. You can even buy a used Canon lens from places like KEH at very reasonable pricing that would be better than that Tamron.
