EF,AF Lenses for Crop vs Full Frame Cameras?
I Currently have a Canon 350D XT. I’m thinking of switching to a full frame such as the 5D next summer. But from now to next summer i will be purchasing some lenses and i want it to work with my full frame as well.
1) What kind of Canon Lenses Should i get so i know it will work on my full frame camera whenever i purchase one? should it be ES? or AF?
2) what is the difference bet ween EF-S, EF, AF?
3) If get a Sigma, Tamron, Tokina for Canon Would i be able to use them on mu full frame as well? if not how do i know which ones i can use on my full frame and which ones i cant?

Mere is right, but he left out the best part. If you attempt to use one of your EF-S lenses on either your full frame DSLR or 35 mm SLR, you will damage the mirror.
The ONLY lenses you can use on 5D or 1D cameras are EF or special purpose TS-E and MP-E lenses.
When you start talking about generic lenses, all bets are off. I have heard from Canon shooting friends that even updating the firmware on their Canon’s can cause their generic lenses to stop working … those lenses then have to go back to their makers for a chip upgrade at some cost to you in both time and money.
