There’s two things to keep in mind with Pooky’s great links to user reviews: not a lot of professional photographers have ever used either of these lenses (a professional grade zoom offers one quarter of the zoom range for five times the price), and anyone who does use either of these lenses has probably never touched the other one. So even though people mostly know whet they’re talking about in that forum, I’d still take any user opinions with a grain of salt.

With both lenses, the $300 price tag is for the convenience of having 11x zoom; not for the AF speed, image quality, build quality, or anything else. These are intended to be (and are) fun lenses. So long as you keep that in mind, you’ll enjoy either one. Personally, I’d spend the extra $40 for the Sigma version.
